Valkenburg Apiaries is a growing, hands-on beekeeping operation based in South Australia, focused on producing high-quality honey and maintaining strong, healthy hives.
We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team in a full-time role. This role offers the opportunity to develop practical skills in apiculture while working in a supportive, down-to-earth team environment.
About the Role:
You will assist with the day-to-day operations of a commercial apiary, including hive management, honey production and pollination services. You will work closely with experienced beekeepers in both team and individual settings, gaining valuable hands-on exposure to all aspects of beekeeping operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with hive inspections, and brood checks
- Honey harvesting, extraction, and packing
- Hive construction, repairs and equipment maintenance
- Transporting hives and setting up at different sites when required
- Maintaining clean and organised workspaces
- Following safe procedures
What We're Looking For:
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and a team player
- Physically fit and able to handle repetitive manual tasks
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, dust, and variable weather
- Honest, dependable, and punctual
- Practical mindset with good problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Previous beekeeping or agricultural experience
- Interest in apiculture and sustainable food production
- Experience operating tools, machinery, and vehicles
- Driver's licence preferably HR/HC
- Forklift and Chemical licence

Work Conditions
- Early starts and seasonal workload variations (busy harvest periods) including overtime and weekend work
- Outdoor work in rural and remote environments
- Protective equipment provided (bee suits, gloves, etc.)
